One of the main pillars of CEBI’s mission is its social intervention. We aim at exploring possibilities and making resources available. We are aware of the challenges that exist in today’s society and believe in meeting them with innovative practices which promote social equity.
We support children from their early childhood, vulnerable families, and elderly citizens.
Our actions are meant to support the needs of our community, while stimulating new initiatives, as well as participating in developing projects.
Supporting Senior Citizens
ALVERCA
• Residential Structure for Senior Citizens (ERPI)ERPI offers its users services in terms of comfortable accommodation while maintaining their autonomy, dignity and well-being.
• Day Centre (CD)
CD has its own areas, in the ERPI facilities, with multiple services for senior citizens who wish to maintain their own accommodation.
• Domiciliary Care Services (AD)
AD not only offers support to those who are in their own homes and are physically or mentally dependent, but it also cares for senior citizens who, temporarily or permanently, cannot take care of their own basic needs or carry out their daily tasks.

ERICEIRA
• CATEI
This Senior Support structure is located in Fonte Boa dos Nabos – Ericeira, in a Community Support area of CEBI. It is situated in a rural area near the sea. It integrates several services in the same physical space, which allows different generations to interact harmoniously.
The Temporary Shelter for Senior Citizens (CATEI), which is aimed at a senior population who is in grave social risk and whose families, or other social services, cannot give an adequate response to their immediate needs. It provides them with proper accommodation, support and referral and allows them to have access to basic care. The Assisted Living service offers senior citizens personalised solutions in terms of comfortable accommodation (temporary or permanent), while maintaining their autonomy, dignity, and well-being.

Social Emergency
ALVERCA
• Residential Shelter
The CEBI Residential Shelter, in Alverca, has as its mission the urgent and temporary shelter of children of both genders, who are in a situation of danger and need protection and appropriate intervention. It has the capacity to accommodate 30 children permanently and operates daily, 24 hours, every day of the year.
The residential care of children is framed by the Law for the Protection of Children and Young People in Danger and is preceded by a decision of the competent organisations (Family and Children Courts and/or Commissions for the Protection of Children and Young People).
ERICEIRA
• Community of Insertion
The Community of Insertion, inserted in the Integrated Community Support of the Foundation, in Ericeira, is intended for the reception of single-parent families, women with or without minor children, who are in a situation of social risk. It has the capacity to accommodate 14 users and has a Technical Team of experienced and qualified professionals.
Its main objectives are to inform, support, welcome and guide families, providing them with the necessary conditions so that they can be structured according to an Insertion Project appropriate to their needs and interests.
Social and Community Intervention
The Social and Community Intervention of the CEBI Foundation, as a Community proximity hub and for its transversal and constructive intervention, is based on a systemic and multidisciplinary model and aims at the prevention of social exclusion, the promotion of inclusion and the construction of social cohesion among the most vulnerable populations.
Depending on the problems identified, CEBI provides economic support, whenever needed, assists in job search and integration into the workplace, with food support, psychological, social and other types of support and may award social scholarships.
